I am considering flying from the US to see DAD on February 12 & 13 in ESBJERG. I probably will not be able to make this decision until after tickets go on sale. I am afraid that by the time I book the trip (which is going to be very expensive) the shows may be sold out. I want to know if someone associated with the band can guarantee me that I can purchase 2 tickets to these 2 shows?

Forum CPH!! The biggest gig on the tour! and the biggest d-a-d show you can ever attend if it's not a festival gig!

I'll chose that one!

but you could buy both to Odense and CPH. You could book a hotel at Odense and then see them twice! There ain't that long from Odense to CPH with the train!!

Hi Metlcrash,

All cities are very well connected by public transportation, so I wouldn't suggest you to attend the 2 Esbjerg gigs (by travelling to Denmark from the States, you will probably arrive in Copenhagen anyway).

My suggestion is to take Aarhus, Odense and Copenhagen in a row. From Aarhus to Odense is 2 hours by train, and from Odense to Copenhagen is 2 hours as well (more or less).

Concerning the tickets, its hard to promise anything, but my guess is, that they won't be sold out within the first couple of months.

Good luck planning - it will for sure be worth the spending! Smiley-pirate

If you are going fore "the bigger the better" you sould go for Forum in CPH that is an awsome place to see D-A-D. But if you want a more intimate concert then I would say Esbjerg is a fine place for that. The venue is not very large (app. 1000 people) so there is a good chance that you can see them up front or perhaps from the 3.-6. row. Comming from Esbjerg myself I think it's a nice place but the choice is yours.

I really appreciate everybody's input on this. The Odense then Copenhagen situation is sounding pretty good. It's costing me $450.00 US less to fly into Copenhagen instead of Billund.

to D-A-Ddy

I really like the place too. Ex I was there when they played as SOULBENDERES, but twice I had a bad experince coz of people behaving ROTTEN, people who were'nt there for the music. Another time an idiot threw beer in the mixer, also at a DAD concert.

Btw saw MOTÖRHEAD there for the first time.

hammer: never had a bad concert in esbjerg, but then again you can't be sure anywere on were to find the rotten "fans". Remember the mixer think, that was one of the worst thinks that could happen

I will bw attending the concert in Odense Smiley-wink I live there!

But I agree with the other fans that Forum, CPH is a great place to see D-A-D if it's your first concert..
Not only will you see and hear D-A-D, but I am pretty sure that they will invite some of DK's best rockbands also , just like they did last when they played there!
And it's the last concert in Denmark, meaning that they guys would give their ALL!
But if you want to meet D-A-D, then I suggest that you don't do it in CPH, cause when the concert's over, they're usually too busy going home at that time...
Believe me I've tried this many times!

BUT! they may also be kind to you as you're an american who travelled many miles just to see and hear them, so they might take their time to talk to you Smiley-wink

I really apprieciate everybody's input on this. Smiley If I stay in Copenhagen for my entire trip will I have a problem getting from Odense to Copenhagen on the train after the show since it will be so late?

I can't seem to find out where to buy tickets for the Odense show. I found where to get tickets for the Forum show in Copenhagen. Can someone tell me where I buy tickets to the Odense show? When do they go on sale? I see the Forum goes on sale this Saturday. Thanks.

A good decision! But as other mentioned Esbjerg may not be the best town to go to. I would recommend Århus or Copenhagen instead where you'll be able to enjoy cities that are much more interesting (sorry, I hope I'm not offending anyone!). Furthermore, Denmark is not that big a country, and by going by train you can easily attend to more than one gig, even if they're in different cities.

Esbjerg is a very nice too see and enjoy DAD. You can't compare it to the bigger places. You are able to get very close to them and it is also a very nice concert-hall. DAD has never let me down in Esbjerg where I have attended numerous concerts.
The concert hall is very close to the train station 5 min. walk.
Bougth my ticket today

Yeah, go to the "big" cities and stand in long lines to the bar, toilets, stand in the 30 row, get into larger arenas with lesser sound quality...

Go to Tobakken for the closeness of the concert, the best damn sound Ive heard in any concerthall (Tobakken and Amager Bio are the beast).
You can touch the stage from 1row, and if you wanna see the entire concert from a seat, there are two balconys open that day + a nice new smaller "balcony". Bars on each floor and toilets on each floor...
Capasity?
Not sure, but around 1000 should be right, or 1100 as DADdy says.

The 2DVD set from 2005 was shot by me at Tobakken. Check it out, so you know what you will be missing out on while being number 500 in line to take a leak Smiley-wink

Nah, just go with whatever feels right...and what is cheapest, cauz a extra expence of $400 for flying into Billund is unreal!

If you decide to go "on tour" and catch them here in Esbjerg, be sure to drop me a line and Ill have a room made ready for you and your wife/GF or whom you are doing this with.

Its good to see a fellow american into the band. Hope things work out well for your trip. Was thinking of doing the same thing, but need to convince the wife. Would you be flying out of the east coast or west coast?

I bought my tickets to the show in Copenhagen for March 7!!!!! I'm very excited. All I need now is someone to commit to going with me. This has been difficult. I want to thank everyone again for your input. It has been very helpful in deciding what to do and has made me feel much more comfortable about making the trip.

I would be flying from Baltimore and probably going through Newark. Continental has a direct flight from there to Copenhagen.

Without being too nosey, I'd be very interested to hear what it is costing you to come from USA to Denmark.

From here, Glasgow, Scotland, (which is as near to DK as Germany is almost) it will cost me nearly €400 to fly to CPH to see DAD in March.

I could easily fly to the USA for that!

If they were playing New York, it would be cheaper for me to see them there.

Crazy. Smiley-sad

Just checked out SAS air and they can offer you a ticket for 2300 dkr Glasgow-CPH and back (around 220£) so I think it would be possible for you to find something for less than 400£. Must say that I too find 400£ for a ticket to denmark very expensive

->Curly

Just checked tickets with Easyjet and if you go from Glasgow on the 4th of March to London Stansted and from London Stansted to Cph it's possible to do a return for £99. That's pretty darn cheap.

Taking the trip from the US to see them sounds wicked cool.
I'm hoping to hit most of the tourdates in Dk. *fingers crossed*

Hey guys, thanks for searching for me. Smiley I had forgotten to try SAS, but the best I could find was Edinburgh-CPH Sat 7th - Sun 8th for €387 Smiley-sad

I can only go Sat to Sun and I'm DETERMIND to see them in a large venue, so CPH it'll have to be.

So I think going via London, as much as a pain in the ar*e as that is, will have to do.

Oh, the things we do for love....*sigh*

It's costing me about $1,200.00 US dollars per person to fly there, including hotel stay, from March 4th through the 10th. It's only 5 nights in the hotel because I don't arrive until the 5th.

It ain't cheap, BUT...

You only live once and you can't take it with you!!!!

As a fellow USA D-A-D fan, I extremely envy you getting to go over to see them in person. I hope to do so myself very soon, but the trip from Montana is a little more involved.

I am wondering if there is any way you can hook up with one of the D-A-D anniversary guitars and get it back to me. I would make it worth your while financially. I haven't gotten any response from the fans over there on the same offer. Let me know at scarylee1@netzero.com. thanks, and enjoy the show(s)!
