Apart from Soft Dogs, it's really hard to think of a D-A-D love song...hmm...

Between You and Me, is my favourite I think.

But it's much easier to think of all their anti-love songs!!

Curly, I believe that anti-love songs are still love songs - I mean they're about love no matter how that it's painted. However, there are not really many of any love songs anyway. But some make me think about it though the lyrics might be about something else. Mostly it's about life in general Smiley-wink And I believe that Home Alone and Naked But Still Strippin are about love or fairly about its lack.

=>Ginger/WIW,

I can't STAND 'A Kiss Between...'

(Only the song though...!!;-))

I ALWAYS, ALWAYS jump to the next song -which I think is one of their best EVER - 'I'm Not The Same' which I reckon is about Peter??

I don't think I've ever EVER listened to 'A Kiss..' the whole way through,

Gives me the heebie-geebies. *shudders*

It's so unlike D-A-D music wise.

I really don't care about the lyrics, they could be singing about cars or football, it's just WRONG for them musically.

Or is it just me??

Does everyone else love it??

Well, Curly, I think it was a weird period of my life. We just picked up a Brasilian guy who became a good friend of ours, and my appartment was always full of some Mexican, Cuban and other latinos musicians, and then I was travelling around Brasil, so I was ok with AKBTL at that time. It's not among my favourites now, but I definitely don't hate it.

And, yes, I do pay attention to the lyrics, 'cause it's a part of DAD's magic to me. A great part I'd say.

A kiss between the legs is kind of a gypso song you should be standing in Hawaii, dancing too with a hula skirt on and a cocktail in your hand on the beach! weeeheeeeeee.... But it's not my fave song and not my hate song nr. 1

I can't stand "it'swhenit'swrongit'sright" it's too agressive, but sure a nice song to hit someone with if I'm mad haha.. Actually "Helpyourselfish" is the D-A-D album that I never listen too.. well only once in a while then... But I don't prefer it..

=> Oh God, no Ginger, I'm sorry, I didn't make myself clear!

I meant that it was the musical style of AKBTL that I didn't care for, not D-A-D's lyrics!!

I ADORE their genius lyrics.

I'm so proud of knowing almost all of them off by heart!!

I wish there was an Olympic sport of knowing which D-A-D lyric came from which song... I'd win Gold every time!!

Sometimes I make my poor husband test me... he reluctantly picks random lyrics from the CDs and I have to guess which song they come from.

And I ALWAYS almost get them right!! Smiley-wink

What a terrible confession!

No-one's gonna want to be my friend now!

Curly, I think I'm pretty much the same, 'cause I forced myself to memorize almost all the songs while translating the lyrics in Russian. But I don't torture anyone Smiley-wink

So what...

it´s got it all... madly love, wild passion and a mean guitar solo...

No matter what, it´s all about love...

So what if we've seen each other naked
So what if you've thrown that glass right at my head
And what if a bomb is ticking under our bed
If it's all for love
Yeah, if it's all for love

Tippi - Hopefully singing a duet with Jon Bon Jovi :-b.........

hahaha I guess that will be in my dreams.
No I got this oppotunity to appear on stage with Bon Jovi for 3 songs as a stage audience, take a look at this video from Youtube:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SU-qlZljD4

This is what could happen as we're standing on stage Smiley-laugh Smiley-tongue
We also get the best up front tickets, a signed tourprogram by Bon Jovi and 100 Dollars to buy stuff from their webshop Smiley-wink
I just can't wait. Though I've paid my ass off for this, then I'm sure that it's going to be all the money worth it... But I don't think that I'll ever again pay that much to meet famous people...

Oh Tina. That is sad to hear that you never listen to Helpyourselfish. I think that it is one of the best albums ever made and It'swhenit'swrongit'sright is a absolute killer song. I love it.

Am i the only one who think that Helpyourselfish is an amazing album?

Back to the love songs. "Never Never" is one of my favourites but "Riding With Sue" is a classic and that is a love song in lyrics but not in the music (if you look at many of the other lovesongs) and that is cool i think.

You're not the only one. Helpyourselfish is my favorite album. The sound is soo tight and the guitars are right in your face - I love it.

I really like Helpyourselfish too..But thats the great thing about D-A-D, they have made hard and soft music, so you can listen to the style you are up for at the moment...

And I would say Nineteenhundred...or Soft Dogs!

Helpyourselfish is diffidently one of my favourites. Especially because it includes reconstrucdead. but the rest of the songs are just great...

On the other hand i really can't stand AKBTL... It's not like I puke, whenever I hit this song, but it's not d-a-d as I want it!

For lovesong I would choose Empty heads... it's not really about love, but it makes your fall I love with life... a thing of beauty!
