i think it's kind of funny. On the newest album from Green Day, is there a song called Jesus of Surburbia... And then i'm wondering who have copied who?
I see no harm in beeing inspired by anyone as long as you don't do a ripoff without being allowed to do it... (I heard a song by some boyband recently in the radio and thougt: "that bass is just way too close to Gangsta's Paradise..." - think it might have been blue, but no sure)...
I think it's mere coincidence that both bands use the word "suburbia" in a song - after all, the word isn't "invented" by neither D-A-D nor Green Day - you can even look it up in a dictionnary, e.g. www.webster.com
My conclusion: D-A-D were inspired of the title from the movie "Lawrence of Arabia", but the use of the word "suburbia" has nothing to do with Green Day.
On The DVD with Scare Yourself Cobber and Laust talk about Which track they like the most.... And Cobber says: Lawrence Of Arabia.... and then Jesper tell him the number it's called: Lawrence Of Suburbia....!
Like Zleep-Dogg i think D-A-D were inspired by the movie "Lawrence of Arabia"
I dont think there is any conections between the two songs. And by the way, if you saw the Green Day live performance at Orange stage on this years Roskilde Festival, I realy don't think that you wil say that Green Day sucks. I a sorry to say it, but they beat our band! Green Day also said thet their performance was the best one they ever had made...

I really does NOT agree. Green Day isn't better than D-A-D. NOT AT ALL. D-A-D has, and will always be my favorite band. I don't like green days rock. Some of their songs is a bit to mainstream, if you understand? D-A-D rocks!

actually I believe D-A-D is inspired by the movie "Lawrence of Arabia"
Green Day might be inspired by "Buddha of Suburbia" (I found this title on books, music and film)

The releasedate for American idiot album is : 21 sept. 2004 - soGreen day was first...
So it might be D-A-D to be inspired of Green day...
But it also can be the number 3: incidence

BUT KNOW I'M THINKING :
D-A-D already had their songs ready at that time and there ready for the studio...
SO MY ANSWER IS : that it might could be incidence / tillfällighet...
